Decorative Arts, Folk Art
Mitchell Keno is the older brother of identical twin appraisers Leigh and Leslie Keno. His formative years with his parents and brothers in upstate New York exposed him to a world of auction houses and auctioneers. He grew up attending flea markets and antique shows throughout New York and New England with his parents, with a special interest in Folk Art and painted furniture. In his early 20s, while employed in the home building industry, he continued buying, selling and collecting country American furniture, accessories and folk art.
In the spring of 2000, Leigh invited him to join his Manhattan antiques business, Leigh Keno American Antiques, where he is currently involved in all phases of the operation.
Mitch has participated in the ANTIQUES ROADSHOW since 1999.
He divides his time between his career in New York City and his home in Herkimer, NY, where he lives with his wife Kristin and daughter Lisa.
