    Susan Florence Susan Florence is one of three regional jewelry specialists representing Christie's in America. For more than a decade, Susan, as a certified gemologist, has been with Christie's traveling throughout the central United States and Asia, conducting appraisals, developing new business, lecturing, and organizing charity events and jewelry exhibitions.

    Born in Boston, Ms. Florence graduated with honors from Tufts University and completed course work at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. She also participated in Christie's year-long Fine Arts Program in London and studied at the University of London. At the Gemologial Institute of America she earned both diamond and colored stone certificates and a graduate gemologist diploma. Before joining Christie's, Ms. Florence managed the buying, merchandising and sales operations for a Manhattan jewelry wholesaler and was an assistant buyer for a jewelry retailer in New York.

    Ms. Florence lectures to a variety of organizations throughout the United States and abroad, ranging from gemological societies such as the Hong Kong Gemological Association, to economic organizations such as the Institutional Investors, to numerous societal groups among which are the Dallas Junior League Sustainers and the Women's Advisory Council of Case Western Reserve. Representing Christie's, Ms. Florence takes an active role in fundraising events. Personally, Susan Florence is a member of the American Gemological Society and on the Women's Board of the University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation.
